Stories make sense! Preaching doesn’t!

Hello Reader, Do you agree? (You can reply to this email; I read all my emails 🙂 )

In the past 9 years, as I started educating myself on sustainability,

  • I have seen how stories touch hearts when boring facts just don’t work!
  • I analyzed how big companies trick us into wasteful habits we don’t need through storytelling in the form of modern marketing!
  • I realized that reading the real-life stories of the authors of Life Without Plastic triggered my desire to reduce single-use plastics!
I must admit, Over the past 9 years, Many of the things I used to prioritize no longer hold the same significance for me. Things I did not care much about are now my top priorities.

Here are my five observations on how compelling stories can help you transition to a sustainable lifestyle:

  1. Stories change us more than lectures ever will. Think about it: you remember bedtime stories from childhood but probably forgot yesterday’s news.
  2. We are born to live in harmony with nature. Living sustainably isn’t just a modern concept—it’s a return to our human roots. Reviving the memories of how our grandparents and parents lived is filled with enriching stories!
  3. Pay attention to who’s telling your story. Big corporations silently shape how we live. Take back control of your own choices.
  4. Find stories that speak to you. When sustainability feels personal and relatable, you’ll want to make changes.
  5. Become the hero of your green story, take the lead, and share your transformation stories to inspire those around you and lead them to good health and peace.
Believe me, I had heard a lot about the dangers of plastic, but they never really hit home until I read the book "Life Without Plastic" by Chantal Plamondon and Jay Sinha.

And by the way, my research on plastic pollution while studying for LEED certification fueled my desire to read this book!

So yes, fiction or nonfiction books can play a crucial role in changing behavior, which is a research-backed science!

Hey Reader, I plan to send you some additional personalized content alongside the Newsletter that can assist you on this journey :)

I don't want to overwhelm you with unnecessary emails that would increase your digital carbon footprint. Instead, I aim to send only what will benefit you on your journey.

Having run an e-commerce business that sells eco-friendly goods, I’ve realized that people won’t switch to eco-alternatives unless they understand the problem, which is a fair point. Even when they want to make the switch, they often feel confused about what they should switch to instead.

Many micro and small businesses offer great solutions but lack effective marketing to reach those in need.

With The Eco Loop, I aim to support people and businesses in their sustainable journey. : )

Please take this poll so I can tailor and send you the right content that will add value to you.

This is the Book that changed the course of my life :)

If you would like to check out the book, here it is :)

Do share this email and help spread the word and get more people to become imperfectly sustainable. :)

Thank you so much!

Hope to hear from you :)

See you soon in your inbox!

Cheers,

Pallavi :)
