The Eco Experiment

Hello Reader :)

Welcome to The Eco Experiment Newsletter :)

Hope you had a great start to 2025!

We are already two months into the year! I will be a little vulnerable here and admit to you that I have been struggling to get my systems in place :))

I hope you received my last email! There were some technical issues at the backend, due to which my email has probably landed in Spam folders :(

If it has ended up in your spam folder, I request you move it to your primary inbox.

If you have lost access to that email, here is the link.

Things are finally falling into place, and I'm thrilled to be back in your inbox🙂

Reader I get to listen to this way often! Ecofriendly stuff is too expensive. I cannot afford it!!

I understand! I, too, was in the same boat, but you know, Reader that perception changed slowly through the years, and I realized how much it saved me money instead or could easily fit into my budget!

Let me explain :)

Year 2004 to 2015:
  • I bought groceries at the cheapest price when in offers, and consumed a lot of processed food that seemed very affordable, too!
  • I spent a lot of money in beauty salons straightening my curly hair with toxic chemical treatments!
  • I spent quite often on cheap fast fashion, which I never felt comfortable in, as I wanted external validation.
  • OUTCOME was I always felt insecure about my looks and fell terribly sick and went into depression.
Year 2016 to 2018:
  • I still bought groceries at reasonable prices, but no more processed food.
  • Stopped all kinds of toxic chemical-laden beauty treatments, including nail polish :))
  • I slowly switched to a minimalistic lifestyle and bought clothes I was comfortable in and only when needed.
  • OUTCOME was - I started healing dramatically and feeling more peaceful and content with less clutter to manage.
Year 2019 to 2025:
  • I started buying organic food supplies whenever available.
  • Stopped using synthetic makeup, perfumes, and toxic house cleaning products and switched to eco-friendly alternatives.
  • I spend on good quality sustainable fabrics once in a few years. They are so comfortable and easy on my skin :)
  • BEST OUTCOME was - I completely healed, and the best part was I could switch to most of the eco-friendly alternatives with less than the budget I had for spending on my lifestyle previously!! Now I am so content with little stuff and feel more grateful for the healing I went through with no expensive medical treatments by just living in sync with nature :)

Of course, I cannot cover all the swaps I made in this one email, but I will gradually share it through our journey together :)

This is just a quick overview of the swaps that significantly impacted my well-being!

So, the main point is that a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle requires you to mimic nature! Where everything works in a cycle and is interdependent. When we use our resources optimally, we can afford everything that is ecofriendly. Sustainable production is labor and time-intensive, just like how it happens in Nature :)

We cannot switch to everything eco-friendly in one go! Slowly taking small steps to become a little more eco-friendly each day is the key to a healthy and peaceful life!

What is the one thing you struggle to switch to a sustainable alternative? Please reply to this email; I read all my emails and will try to answer through my upcoming newsletters :)

P.S. I am still a work in progress and learning each day how to better my life by becoming a little more eco-friendly :)

The Eco Experiment Newsletter - 3 Stats that will blow your mind & why sustainability matters!

The Eco Experiment Hello Reader, I vividly remember a few years back when I stumbled upon this Netflix documentary, "The True Cost." It left me in complete shock!! I never knew the clothes I bought were causing a series of environmental disasters and hurting many people! If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend watching it! After watching it, I hunted for eco-friendly clothing stores in the malls as I wasn't aware of any sustainable brands then and started buying all the linen clothing I...

The Eco Experiment newsletter - Stories make sense, preaching doesn't

The Eco Experiment Stories make sense! Preaching doesn’t! Hello Reader, Do you agree? (You can reply to this email; I read all my emails 🙂 ) In the past 9 years, as I started educating myself on sustainability, I have seen how stories touch hearts when boring facts just don’t work! I analyzed how big companies trick us into wasteful habits we don’t need through storytelling in the form of modern marketing! I realized that reading the real-life stories of the authors of Life Without Plastic...
