I wish someone told me about this sooner!

Hope you are doing great :)

So here I am in your inbox with all the March updates and a small discussion with you on skincare :)

Skincare is such an integral part of our lives! From newborn to old age it is essential to keep the biggest organ of our body, the skin functioning optimally!

Is skin the largest organ? Yes, you heard it right! Skin is the largest organ of our body and is also like a sponge that is absorbing everything you apply to it!

This includes all products like soaps, shampoo, conditioner, scrubs, face packs, moisturizers, makeup, etc., etc.

The choice of the skin care product you use has a direct correlation to your health and how commercial skincare products are responsible for an increase in chronic diseases and polluting the environment.

Skincare is as important as food and should be chosen carefully which is possible if we become more aware and don't fall for the marketing gimmicks of skincare brands.

Did you know that many of the products we use every day, such as moisturizers, sunscreens, and makeup, contain petrochemicals that can be harmful to our health?

Petrochemicals are derived from petroleum and natural gas. They are used to create synthetic fragrances, preservatives, and other ingredients that are commonly found in skincare products.

I have struggled with a bad skin condition since my teens! Natural skincare solutions were always a part of growing up but I got carried away by the marketing gimmicks of big skincare companies! Got a bit digressed in between, got a very severe bad reaction with a few products, and came back to the ever-green natural remedies.

After trying out every commercial product and solution in the market and parlors I have realized it is only the fresh natural ingredients that help my skin condition. It is easy to make it fresh and reduces one piece of plastic packaging.

Even if you get skincare products from the market that claim they are natural, make sure you read the labels to ensure they don’t have any synthetic preservatives or microplastic beads. Just having one ingredient that is organic or natural does not make it safe for use!

Many skincare brands flaunt of having natural ingredients, then why not apply them directly instead of applying them with additional chemicals?

Microplastics in scrubs and packs are polluting the waterways and entering our food chain slowly poisoning us and marine life.

For many years I failed to understand that it was the inflammatory food that I was eating which was causing the breakouts! Once I started eating clean everything fell into place 🙂

So I learned the hard way that rather than finding a quick fix, finding the root cause and treating it with natural remedies gives long-lasting results! Even today at 42, if I get breakouts, I understand I have been eating or I must say cheating on the wrong foods :))
